At the mention of Pasha introducing her to some things, Valentina couldn't hold back a smile. In her mind, she imagined him taking her out to eat at a restaurant. It would be a welcome treat after living on shark and various root vegetables for most of the year. No matter how she or her mother cooked it, turnip got boring really quickly. Val snapped back to reality, giving Pasha a small smile.
"Oh? And what would you introduce me to?" she asked, her tone taking on a rather flitracious sound. Soloman/ It was a very Jewish name, but somehow it suited Pasha's younger brother. Well, at least it did in Val's mind. "Soloman is such a nice name! I can't explain it, but it just sounds like it fits your brother," she offered, smiling. When the conversation turned to whether or not she had any siblings, Valentina shook her head lightly. "Unfortunately, I don't have any siblings. You see, mom has a medical condition that makes it nearly impossible for her to have children. She was lucky to have me." Val's voie trailed off as she sat for a long moment, looking up at the sky. "I do wish I could have a little brother or sister. It does get lonely on the farm sometimes," she told Pasha, giving him a small smile.
Valentina was very glad Pasha wasn't going to make her choose between kissing and watching the stars together. After he put his arm around her, she leaned in closer, placing her head softly on his chest. Val could hear his heart beating, a sound that calmed her and made the moment even more special. She watched the sky turn purple, and the shadows slowly crept closer to the two of them. Still, she did not want to leave; it felt too good just being in his arms.
Her cheeks reddened as she listen to Pasha describe her. She shook her head lightly when he called himself a fat Canadian git. "Oh Pasha. I'm not crazy, though I know you must think I am," she said, looking into his large brown eyes. You are unlike anyone I have ever met," Val offered, leaning in and giving him an innocent kiss. "You're not going to believe it, but at home in Iceland, guys don't want to date me. I'm just the friend. But when I met you, thhere was something about you that made me want to be with you." Val was fighting back tears at this point now. he had never really felt like guys wanted to be with her, like she was destined to be the 'friend' forever. "For the record, you aren't fat, Pasha. And besides, I like my guys with a bit of meat on them. Lying together like this is just more comfortable," she offered, chuckling.
With the moon starting to rise over the lake, the two of them were bathed in silver light. Val leaned in closer, quite content to spend more time in Pasha's arms. She gave him a tiny smile, leaning up to kiss him again. She pressed her lips against his, gently running her fingers through her hair as she deepened the kiss. Val pulled away, looking into his wonderfully bright eyes. "Pasha, I'd love to stay here forever, but it is starting to get late. Would you like to walk me back to our room?" she asked, gently grabbing his hand and giving it a gentle squeeze. Tonight had been magical, and she could not believe that it actually happened.

Plant your hope with good seeds
Val asked him what he had in mind, with what he thought might have been a hint of flirtiness in her tone. Pasha, who had very little capacity for suggestiveness, gave her a guileless smile. He hoped it was okay that he was still talking about food. “Well. Some of the things that took me by surprise when I first got to Montréal. Butternut squash soup. Samosas with mango chutney. Tortière. Mint spring rolls. Crème brûlée with fresh berries. Green tea ice cream.” He paused, frowning. “Though I’ve never actually made that. You’d need rock salt or something. Anyway, I’ll make you anything, just say the word. I hope our dorm has a kitchen.”
He rolled his eyes. “Solomon’s nice to hear every so often, but I wouldn’t want to be stuck with it for life. You’re right, it does suit him, in a strange way.” As she explained, Pasha’s smile faded. Her poor mother, he thought. Pasha had always known he wanted kids - how awful must it be to want them and not be able to have them? And how lonely for her, growing up in a remote place without siblings? “I’m sorry,” he told her, earnestly. “You would have made someone a great sister. It is lonely, isn’t it? My brother and sister are quite a bit younger than me - they’re six and eight - and I can remember really wanting other kids around.”
Pasha returned the kiss, then touched his forehead to hers for a moment. It brought his eyes as close as they could be to hers, so that he felt like he was immersed in them. Then he blinked at her, surprised. “You? You were the friend?” That meant she had more in common with him than he’d suspected. Pasha was the epitome of ‘the friend’; he was the one who acted like everyone’s dad, the goofy one who girls came to for advice and comfort, but not a lot else. Pasha had always assumed it was because of his weight, but in truth, it was just as much a by-product of the fact that he’d had so much responsibility thrust on him, early in life, that he’d never really had time to be a teen. “Why? Were these young men mad, or stupid, or just incapable of sensory perception?” He was trying to coax a smile out of her, because she looked sad. But after a moment he became serious again. “I’ve been there. It’s not much fun, is it? But with you - I felt the same.” And now Val, bless her, was insisting that he wasn’t fat. Pasha wasn’t convinced, but he was still glad she’d said it. “Well. You’re sweet. And you’re right about that - I give better hugs than anybody.”
Another kiss- this time by moonlight, instead of sunset. Pasha wasn’t sure which he liked best quite yet. He didn’t really have the mental space to compare them. Each one was its own universe. As they kissed he traced the line of her jaw with one hand, gently, as if this beautiful dancer was the most delicate thing he had ever touched. But of course, it couldn’t go on forever. Night was closing fast, and the September air was getting cold. Pasha nodded and stood, reaching out a hand to help her up. “My pleasure. And very helpful, too, since I still don’t know where it is.” Reluctantly, he shouldered his backpack and picked up his violin case. “Our room. I may never get used to that.”[/blockquote]

The idea of Pasha making her dinner one night was very sweet. Valentina could invision him over the stove, expertly chopping vegetables and making the perfect meal, with his own dash of fun and mischief thrown into the mixture. It was just the thing she wanted to do with a boyfriend... Boyfriend? We're not even dating yet... Val scolded herself mentally for referring to Pasha as her boyfriend. They hadn't known each other very long, and although they had a wonderful date, he wasn't her boyfriend. But somehow, the thought of him as such just seemed right. Val tried to listen to the things he would like to cook, but she was too busy thinking about him as a boyfriend, well, until he said he hoped the dorm had a kitchen. She smiled at that, as she had been there before. "There is a kitchen in the dorm! It's two double bedrooms, a common bathroom, a living room and a common kitchen, complete with a stove," Val said with a smile.
As he told her she would have made a great sister, a faint blush crept over her cheeks. Val had always been told that she was good with young kids, and she constantly had people asking her mother why she never had another for Val to be a big sister to. Sadly, some things were just never meant to be, and although it was lonely at times, she had other ways to keep herself occupied. "Thank you, Pasha. Even though I don't have any siblings, I am the big sister to all the younger kids in the area. One farm about 10 minutes away from us has 9 children living there, all under the age of 11. I often go over and lend a hand once I finish my chores," she said, smiling. Val loved kids and she was the go-to person when you needed somebody to watch kids.
Valentina loved every minute of their kiss, especially when they touched foreheads. His eyes were dark, but there was a warmth to them that made it nearly impossible for her to forget. She laughed when he asked if the guys around her were incapable of sensory perception. "Well, I don't think they were. But to be honest, most guys don't find a girl attractive when she has her hair thrown into a messy ponytail, wearing overalls and rubber boots, trying to coax cattle down the road. To them, I was their farmgirl friend who was there when the cows gave birth, or if the animals needed to be brought in. They didn't think of me as anything else," she said, giving Pasha a small but equally sad smile. "With you, you see beyond the girl with a pretty face. You see the real me, and that's what I absolutely adore about you," Val whispered, giving him another kiss.
With another kiss, Val felt Pasha trace her jawline with his fingertips. His touch was delicate, like she was a fragile doll that would break if he was too rough. It took all of her strength to keep from shuddering happily as he did that, but she managed a small smile as they pulled away."That was wonderful, Pasha. I couldn't have asked for a better evening. We should really do this again," she said, giving him a playful wink. He extended a hand to her, to which she happily grasped and lifted herself off the ground. Val wiped away the grass on her pants, moving closer to Pasha. "The dorm is about a 30 minute walk outside of town, so we have about an hour in total to walk. Once we get back, you'll still have to put your stuff away, since I have all of mine put away. The room really isn't too bad," she offered, holding back a laugh as he said he might never get used to calling the dorm room "our" room. "I know calling it 'our' room is different, but I hope you'll get used to it in time," Val offered, kissing him once more, grabbing his hand and gently leading him back in the direction they came. ---- Just over an hour later, Val arrived at the dorm, heading inside and showing Pasha the room. "Well, it is nothing much, but I suppose you are tired and would like to get changed for bed. We have classes in the morning. Bathroom's two doors down in this little flat, in case you need to hange or whatever. I'm going to get ready for bed. Thank you again for such a wonderful time tonight. It was really...magical," she said, trying to think of the perfect word to describe the evening. Before she started to get ready, Val gave Pasha one last good night kiss, pressing her lips firmly on his, running a hand through his hair. She pulled away, giving him a quick peck and pulling him into a hug. "Good night. I'll see you in the morning," she said, giving him one last smile before retiring for the night.
